In Loving Memory of

Alexios Fotios Tsoukalas

April 22, 1970 – October 24, 2026

Alexios Fotios Tsoukalas, 56, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on October 24, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, lessons, and stories that will forever live on through those who knew and loved him.

Born on April 22, 1970, in El Paso, Texas, to Fotios Tsoukalas of Kalamata, Greece, and Bertha Alicia Tsoukalas of Aldama, Chihuahua, Mexico, Alexios grew up with a rich cultural heritage that helped shape the man he became. He spent part of his youth in California, where he developed a deep love for the ocean, surfing, and the freedom of living life to the fullest. He eventually returned to El Paso, attending Cathedral High School, a place that held special meaning to him and where he would later encourage his son to follow in his footsteps.

A gifted athlete, Alexios was a high school state champion swimmer and water polo player. Truly at home in the water, swimming remained one of his greatest passions throughout his life. He also had a tremendous love for music and cars, passions he passed down to his children through countless experiences, conversations, and memories.

He went on to earn a degree in finance from Texas Tech University and build a career in financial planning and life insurance. More than anything, he was drawn to the opportunity to help people. He believed in making a difference through the relationships he built, the guidance he offered, and the families he helped protect. His natural ability to connect with people made that work an extension of who he was.

To know Alexios was to know a true character. He had a larger-than-life personality, a strong presence, and an unmistakable spirit. He could walk into any room, strike up a conversation with a complete stranger, and leave having made a friend. Never afraid to be himself, he had a way of bringing laughter, energy, and excitement wherever he went. He was a jokester, a storyteller, and someone who could turn even the simplest moment into an unforgettable experience. With him, there was never a dull moment.

Although Alexios grew up as an only child, life blessed him with brothers in its own way. First was his cousin Rudy, followed by his high school best friend Rick, and later Eddie and Jace, his college roommates. Each of these men held a special place in his life, becoming brothers to him in every sense of the word. During his college years, Alexios also formed lasting friendships through his Kappa Sigma fraternity, building a brotherhood that remained an important part of his life. Through years of shared adventures, laughter, conversations, and unforgettable experiences, these relationships created bonds that meant the world to him. The stories and memories they shared were ones he carried with him throughout his life, a testament to the loyalty, love, and friendships that helped shape the man he was.

Above all, he was a father whose lessons and influence will continue to shape the lives of his children, Luke and Zoë. He instilled in them the importance of discipline, hard work, perseverance, and making the most of every opportunity. He believed that life was meant to be enjoyed, but that the most meaningful things in life required dedication and effort. Through his love for music, his adventurous spirit, and the countless lessons he shared, he gave his children a perspective on life that they will carry with them forever.

His Greek Orthodox faith was another important part of the foundation he passed down, instilling in his children a connection to their faith, family, and traditions that will remain with them throughout their lives.

Alexios is survived by his beloved children, Luke and Zoë Tsoukalas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fotios and Bertha Alicia Tsoukalas.

He will be remembered for his strength of character, his generous spirit, his unforgettable personality, and the lasting impression he left on those fortunate enough to cross his path. He didn't simply live through moments; he made something of them, creating experiences, stories, and memories that will continue to be shared for generations.

Though his time here was far too short, the lessons he taught, the love he gave, the friendships he cherished, and the life he lived will never be forgotten.

May his memory be eternal.
