Alicia M. Alvarez

Alicia M. Alvarez, 78, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016. She was born in Durango, Mexico on December 4, 1937. She attended Jefferson High School. She worked at Farah for 22 years, then worked for Edgemere Elementary School for 11 years, where she retired from. She was active in the auxiliary for American Legion (Post 36). Her love was the casinos, going from El Paso to Las Vegas or El Paso to Louisiana. She proceeded in death by her husband, Benny Alvarez. She leaves behind her three daughters, Rosemary (Joe) Cazares, Patricia (Rudy) Zamora, Alma (Rene) Hernandez, son, Benny Jr. Alvarez, seven grandchildren, Gabriel, Natalie, Theresa, Sebastian, Abel, Rene Jr., Amber, thirteen great grandchildren, three sisters, Evangelina Arredondo, Hermelinda Mejia, and Hortencia Mejia. Visitation: 4:00-9:00 pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass: 8:45 am Thursday, June 30, 2016 at San Antonio Catholic Church.
