Alla Claire Severns

Alla Claire Severns, 70, passed away July 9, 2013. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member in the Catholic Community and was a longtime Parishioner at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral Choir and sang also at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church as well as in the Diocese Choir. She enjoyed singing and playing the organ every chance she had. She was a Science teacher for over 15 years. Alla was a caring and loving woman to all she knew and was known to have rescued many animals. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, John J. Severns; Son, John J. Severns, Jr. and Daughter in- law, Virginia Severns; Daughter, Cynthia Claire Severns; Her one and only Grandson, who was then apple of her eye, Orion Hunter Monterrey; Sister, Betty Barker. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be from 4:00-9:00 PM Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 12:00 PM ( Noon), Friday, July 12, 2013 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church; 8600 Winchester. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 PM. Family to serve as pallbearers. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Americas.
