Allena Johnston Cass

Allena J. Cass, 91, of Phoenix AZ died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 while under the exceptional care of Hospice of the Valley and The Stratford Assisted Living Community. Allena was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William H. Cass, and her daughter Kimberly D. Pho. She is survived by her son, Lorne (Sheryl) Cass and daughter, Katherine (Tom) McCoy. Also surviving are four grandsons; Reed (Trish) Rector, Minh (Jay) Pho, Ryan Cass, Warren (Elma) Cass and , and seven great-grandchildren; Caleb, Conner, Allena, Emily, Crystal, Judith and Kyle, and her loving niece, Darlene Malone. Allena was born December 21, 1923 in Highland Park MI, but traveled extensively as a military wife before settling in El Paso TX in 1968. She was a long-time El Paso resident until 2007, and worked for many years at the White House Department Store in El Paso before its closing. Family and friends were her delight and she cherished them all just as she was cherished by all. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. in El Paso. The Graveside Service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to her favorite organizations, the Rescue Mission of El Paso, or the Humane Society of El Paso.
