Allene Doss

Allene Doss, 83, of Horizon City, Texas slipped peacefully into the arms of God on Monday, September 14, 2015 with her husband of 65 years by her side. Growing up in Ventura, California she met the love of her life in high school, marrying after graduation on August 26, 1950. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In the 60’s and 70’s Allene was an active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha serving as Secretary. During the last 40 years, Allene was an Avon lady enjoying visiting customers and praying for them. She loved the Lawrence Welk Show and Dancing With The Stars. Nicknamed by her family “energizer bunny”, she fought successfully: cancer, heart attack, open heart surgery, multiple health issues, and strokes. Allene is survived by: her loving husband: Donald, daughter: Donene Doss O’Dell (Roger), son: Richard Doss (Pamela), 5 grandchildren: Bryan Doss (Emily), Amber Doss, Gregory Doss (Katelyn), Patrick O’Dell (Tracy), Aundie O’Dell (Travis Salazar), 6 great-grandchildren: Boyd O’Dell, Taylie O’Dell, Aolani Salazar, Trenton Salazar, Vivienne Doss, Shea Doss. Allene was preceded in death by her son: Michael Doss, parents: Alfred and Irene Wolfe, half-brother: Ed Baker. Visitation: Thursday, September 24, 2015, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Funeral Services: Friday, September 25, 2015, 11:30 a.m., Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, Interment: Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
