Amado Martinez Ramirez

Amado M. Ramírez, age 79 years, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, in the midst of his family and friends, and in friendship with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amado was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, and grew up in a ranch in Presidio, Texas. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX, where he met Delma, his wife of 43 years. Amado was a dedicated husband, a dedicated father to his three sons, and a beloved elementary school teacher in El Paso, TX. He enjoyed teaching Spanish, and being advisor for the School Safety Patrols until his retirement. He was an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fan, loved animated and humorous conversations anytime with friends and neighbors, and most especially enjoyed playing guitar accompanied by his wife’s singing. Amado is preceded in death by his wife Delma, his parents Juan and Nicanora Ramirez, and his siblings Beatríz and Emma. He is survived by his three sons César, Gabriel and Amado Jr., his siblings Juan, Rogelio and Dizán, his brother/sister-in-laws, Celso and Lucila, and many extended nephews, nieces, trusted neighbors and friends. His career was devoted to the education and welfare of young students. His legacy is one of humility, trust in God, and willing sacrifice for the family entrusted to him by God.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79907. A Mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9205 North Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79907. Graveside will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
