Amparo G. Huerta, age 83, beloved wife and mother passed away on July 6, 2015 surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Huerta, Jr. Amparo is survived by her husband of 60 years, Juan Huerta; daughters, Teresa Ramos and Cristina (Vic) Guevara; grandchildren, Lalo Ramos (Lacey), Nicole (Luis) Marquez and Victor Guevara Jr.; great grandchildren, Austin and Henry Ramos and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso and a graduate of Bowie High School. After she retired from civil service at Fort Bliss she worked for many years as a union representative with NAGE where she had a great impact on many people’s lives. Our family would like to thank Matrix Home Health, Nurse David and physical therapist Jessica and all the staff at Matrix for the wonderful care she received the last several years. We would also like to express our gratitude to her devoted caregivers Sylvia and Maria, who lovingly cared for her with patience and kindness to the end. Pall Bearers will be Lalo Ramos, Victor Guevara, Victor Guevara, Jr., Luis Marquez, Brian Kern and Art Vielleux. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30am on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 4800 Bryon Street. Interment will follow at 10:30am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
