Andres Burciaga Jr.

June 7, 1953 — September 29, 2025

Andres “Andy” Burciaga Jr., 72, was called home to our Lord on Monday, September 29, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. Andy was a loving and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, a cousin and friend to many and a lifelong resident of the Anthony area, who will be dearly missed.

He was anchored strongly in his faith in God— not swayed by storms, nor shaken by doubt. His love for his family surpassed even his own dreams. He was a hard-working man with a servant’s heart—humble, generous, and deeply devoted to others. If someone was in need, he was the kind of man who would literally give them the shirt off his back. To his grandkids & great-grandkids, Andy is affectionately known as “Poppo”. He did everything in his power to support those he loved. Whether it was long hours on the job or quiet sacrifices at home, he gave of himself fully and without hesitation, always placing his loved one’s needs above his own, never asking for recognition. His love was steadfast, his loyalty unshakable, and his dedication to family unmatched. He didn’t just live for himself, he lived for those he loved, and he did so with grace, grit, and firm resolve. His legacy is one of compassion, sacrifice, and unwavering love.

Andy is preceded in death by his parents: Andres & Maria Burciaga, and his wife, Helen Burciaga. He is survived by his children: Robert “Bobby” Burciaga (Sandra), Yvonne “Bonnie” Burciaga; his siblings: Olga Warriner, Rogelio Burciaga, Sr., Sandra Burciaga-Velez, David Burciaga, Bertha Burciaga; his brothers-in-law: Ed & Javier, and sisters-in-law: Beatriz & Gloria; his 8 grandchildren: Ashnie Burciaga (Josh), Lyria Nunez (Rodolfo), Vivian Rivas, Yolanda Gallegos (Gabriel), JoeAndy Sanchez (Eliza), Vincent Burciaga, Robert Burciaga, Jr., Amber Burciaga (Luis); and his 9 great-grandchildren: Ezra, Olivia, Neleh, Josiah Joey, Ailani, Leland, Annalise, and Laila. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends, to cherish and honor his memory.
