With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anna Marie Lee, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, counselor, and tireless advocate for children, who passed away suddenly from complications of liver cirrhosis. Anna’s spirit, strength, and love for her family and students will be profoundly missed.
Anna Marie Lee was born July 10, 1956 in Anchorage, Alaska. She passed away December 17th, 2024 at the age of 68. Anna graduated from Andress High School in El Paso, Texas in 1974. Anna had a degree in Education as well as a Master’s Degree in Counseling that she received from UTEP and Sul Ross University. She was a teacher and counselor for over 34 years. Anna was married to Kenneth Clifton who she loved dearly. They met in 1998 and she shared 21 years of her life with him and their two dogs, Socks, and Jersey. Ken had two children Daniel and Shawn and four granddaughters, Leilani, Olivia, Violet, and Eyja, that Anna loved as her own. Anna also had a huge circle of friends that she loved deeply. Many of them were the same friendships she had since high school. Some of her best friends were Ms. Mende, Kim, Lourdes, Judy Lee, Cynthia, and Leehan. She loved hanging out with her friends and travelling to foreign countries making new friends along the way. Anna was a teacher at Hart Elementary School starting in 1979 and Crosby Elementary school starting in 1990 in El Paso, Texas. She was also a counselor at Stanton Elementary School in El Paso, Texas. She attended Skyline Baptist Church in high school and made many lifelong friendships there, one of who she reconnected with the last week of her life (Becky), which meant the world to her. Anna loved watching her favorite shows and loved singing. One of her favorites was Patsy Cline, “Walking After Midnight” which she sang up to the day of her passing. She had a beautiful voice and people that heard her sing were always impressed by it.
When God called Anna home, she was surrounded by love. She had her sisters, nieces, and great nephew with her and she got the opportunity to speak to loved family members and friends who could not be there in person. She was finally at peace as she passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Her physical life on earth is over but the beginning of her eternal and beautiful journey is just beginning. We know she is singing with the angels now. On this day December 17, 2024, Jesus said unto her, “I am the resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” She believed and was saved her family her family has peace because of that.
