Anna Ruth Sumerwell "Mom-O"

Anna Ruth Sumerwell “Mom-O”, age 92, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 06, 2026. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed. Anna is preceded in death by her parents: George Jackson Smith and Laura Aletha McCulloch, her husband: Robert Layton Sumerwell, and her daughter: Sara Ruth Adams. She is survived by her daughter: Elizabeth Ann Rivera (Duffy), her grandsons: John Layton Stanley (Lisa) and Matthew Robert Stanley, as well as her great-grandson: John Francis Stanley. She is also survived by many extended family and friends to cherish and honor her memory.

The family would like to recognize Ricarda “Suky” Aroz for being a wonderful caregiver and best friend to Anna. Her love, care, and companionship will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.

Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10:30 am at Restland Funeral Home & Cemetery at the Wildwood Chapel, with Interment to follow at Restland Cemetery.
