Anthony Myron Liss was born to Leon Stanley Liss and Francis Bialeski on December 31, 1948 in Hartford Connecticut. Anthony grew up in Connecticut with his two siblings, a sister Elizabeth and a brother Leon, where Anthony was addressed by family, friends, and peers as Tony throughout the years. Tony had an amazing love for airplanes and as early as the age of fifteen he began flight lessons. This would become the start of a Hero in the making.

Upon completion of high school Tony aspired to attain higher education by enrolling into a University only to be drafted into the United States Army. Tony retained his love of flying keeping the sky close to his goals. During the late 60’s during the Vietnam era, Tony’s college life was interrupted by the military draft. As Tony’s life took a sudden turn, he embraced his duties and embarked on his love of airplanes, thus becoming an amazing Officer and fighter pilot. Serving this nation for over two decades with valor and courage through peacetime as well as wartime until his retirement in 1989. Upon retirement he remained flying as a private pilot. Tony was a well decorated Service-member attaining the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4, “Mr. Liss”, serving in Vietnam demonstrating selflessness, sacrifice and unwavering bravery while always putting those subordinate to him and the citizens of America first.

Along the way of Tony’s incredible career he found love, a wonderful love with a wonderful woman, Barbara with whom he shared a beautiful life together and created amazing memories.

Among Tony’s many celebrations of all he gave to and for America, he was awarded two of America’s most prestigious awards for his exceptional valor, The Bronze Star and The Purple Heart, along with The Air Medal, the National Defense Medal, and The

Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals. Tony’s accomplishments also awarded him various other service medals, commendations, and recognitions, far to many to list, as his achievements were remarkable.
