Antonia Meraz

January 28, 1933 — February 26, 2025

El Paso

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antonia Meraz, age 92, who passed peacefully in her home on February 26, 2025 at 3:52 PM surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and the greatest grandmother. She was born on January 28, 1933 in Pedernales, Chihuahua, Mexico to her parents Rafael Jimenez and Refugio Chavez Jimenez. She is survived by her brother Oscar Chavez, her 10 children, 27 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Antonia was preceded in death by her parents; Rafael and Refugio Jimenez, her husband; Raul Meraz, her sister; Emilia Chavira, and her brother; Gabino Jimenez.

Antonia Meraz, or as her family called her “MOM” was the core of her family and a beloved mother who worked very hard to care for her 10 beautiful children and raise them with all the love she could give. MOM loved going to Disneyland, camping, and taking a fun road trip. Her hobbies were knitting blankets for her family and coloring, but her biggest hobby of all was caring for her grandchildren and making sure each and every one felt loved. MOM was always up for playing bingo, loteria, and a good game of poker. She was the first one to call you on your birthday and give you the best birthday cards perfected with a kiss.

MOM was full of kindness, love, happiness, laughter, and life. She always had the brightest smile and had the ability to bring a smile just as bright as hers to anyone around her. MOM had the greatest sense of humor and brought so much laughter to her family. She was selfless and always willing to give and help others. She was a kindhearted lady and always expected her children to be the same. She strived to keep her kids together and always expected them to be loving to each other with lots of patience.

MOM lived a long beautiful life filled with love and laughter. She will be forever missed and be the best part of us. We will continue her wishes and that is for her family to love one another and continue to grow. May she Rest in Peace.
