Arturo L. Medina, "Popeye"

Arturo L. Medina, “Popeye”, known by many as a legendary figure in El Paso’s Upper Valley, age 87, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 21, 2025 in El Paso, Texas. A husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and a man of many trades and talents; he will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents: Dionicio H. Medina and Julia Ledesma, his wife Frances Medina, his siblings Marcos Medina, Dionicio Medina, Margarita Medina, and Juana Lujan, grandson, Zakkary Noe Medina, as well as his son-in-law Reymundo Marquez. He is survived by his children: Arturo Medina Jr., Jesus Medina, Julie Marquez, Isabel Medina, Noe Medina, and Angel Medina, his siblings: Roberto Medina and Mickey Terrell, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by an extended community of friends and family that will cherish and honor his memory.

Pallbearers include: Arturo Medina Jr., Jesus Medina, Noe Medina, Greggory Wilson, Reymundo Marquez III, Daniel Marquez, Julian Marquez, James Gentry, Logan Smith, and Jose Rayas.

A visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Homes-West with a funeral service to commence at 11:00am. Graveside service will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, NM 88008
