Barbara J. LaFoe

Barbara Jean LaFoe, Born October 16, 1941 in El Paso, TX passed away on Tuesday, April 19 at the age of 74. She is survived by her loving husband Gerald, 3 sons, David, Michael, Kenneth and wife Rocio, daughter Melissa and partner Becky, 10 grandchildren, Kira, Stephanie, Brittany, Nicholas, Jeremy, Cassidy, Lacey, Kelsey, Chloe, and Cash, 4 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Kellan, Adeline, and Rowan and brother Dr. Edward James Sommer Jr. and wife Joyce. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Autumn. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Barbara will be greatly missed. She graduated from Ysleta High School and attended the University of Texas at El Paso. Some of her much loved hobbies were painting, working puzzles, and arts and crafts. In early years, she was active in the Fabens Woman’s Club serving as President, the Maid of Cotton Pageant, and was a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine and Eastern Star. Memorial Service will be held at Scotsdale Baptist Church, 10015 Lockerbie Ave, El Paso, TX, on Saturday, April 23 2016, at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any of the following organizations that Barbara supported, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
