Barry Robert Tanner, 73, passed away November 1, 2006 in El Paso, TX. He was born March 1, 1933 in Hartford, CT to Maurice and Jenny Tanner. An ever-present smile and upbeat personality enable him to be a “Fantastic” salesman which, is what brought him to the El Paso community in the “60’s”. He was a Toy Buyer with Thrifty City Stores and continued his sales career with several local stores: S.O.S. T.V. and National T.V. and Appliance. With his charismatic charm, he was able to open his own store, “The Warehouse”, a local furniture store located on Mills Street. He is survived by: his son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Cecilia Tanner; his daughter and her fiancée, Lisa Hill and Ed Beaston; and his daughter, Julia Tanner. He is also survived by: his grandson, SSGT Albert Robert Carrasco, who is currently serving with the U.S. Marine Corp in Iraq, and his wife, Eula; grandson, Jonathan Peter Carrasco; grandson, Joshua Paul Carrasco and his wife, Zaide; grandsons: Nathan and Reuben Tanner; great granddaughters, Lisa Angelica and Romina Carrasco; and his nephew, David Shea. Visitation will be held from 5-9 pm, Monday, November 6, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast.
