In Loving Memory of Beatrice Macias
December, 1951- January, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beatrice Macias, aged 73, a beacon of love, kindness, and joy. Beatrice left this world on January 2nd, 2025 surrounded by her family who were the center of her universe.
Beatrice was born in 1951 in the west Texas town of El Paso, to parents Raquel and Ricardo Estrada. She was the second of five children, in which three have preceded her in death: Raymundo Estrada, Eduardo “Lalo” Estrada, & Ernesto Estrada. Beatrice is survived by her youngest sibling Ofelia Montes.
Beatrice dedicated her life to creating a warm welcoming home where love flourished and memories were made. She had an extraordinary gift for bringing people together, especially during the holidays when her home became a haven of laughter, delicious meals, and the unshakable bond of family. Her table was always open to friends, neighbors, and anyone in need of a place to belong.
Bea was an avid traveler who loved all things Disney. She enjoyed early morning pancake breakfasts followed by her favorite pass time of all day shopping sprees. She was always prepared for planning and hosting some of our most memorable parties, and we can’t forget how she loved feeding & watching precious hummingbirds that stopped in for a visit.
Beatrice found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life: sharing stories, nurturing others, and giving her heart and time to those that needed it most. Her kindness was a quiet strength, touching countless lives in ways big and small. Whether it was through bringing people together for a family celebration, a comforting word, or her steadfast presence, she made the world a better place.
She is survived by her dear husband of 50 years, Samuel Macias, her two sons, Sammy and Nicholas, her devoted daughter in law, Amber Garcia, and her grandchildren, Damian and Lianna who will carry forward her legacy of love, compassion, and unity. Her life was a testament to the power of family and the joys of togetherness, and she will forever be a guiding light in their lives.
A celebration of Bea’s life will be held on Thursday, January 16th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 9521 North Loop, El Paso, TX 79907 where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the incredible woman she was. Her funeral will be held the following day, Friday, January 17th at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave., El Paso, Texas 79906 at 11a.m.
Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we find comfort in knowing that her love lives on in each of us.
Rest peacefully dear Beatrice, You will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.
We want to give special thanks to Amber Garcia Macias for her undying devotion to her mother-in-law. She saw her through it all, from her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer to her last breath. Words will never do justice what you mean to the family. Thanks go out to her nieces Rebecca and Jessica for their time and care, we love you! The family also thanks her hospice team of Sonia and Rosa for the comfort you brought Bea at home.
