Bess V. Kelly

Bess V. Kelly passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the age of 94. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband William Kelly and her son, Rod Kelly. She is survived by her son Charles Kelly and his fiancee, Karen Stern, her daughter-in-law Sandy Kelly, grandchildren Brendan Kelly, David Kelly and his wife Stacey, Alexandra Kelly and a great-grandchild, Gabriel Kelly. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 1943. She taught elementary school for the next 37 years in Tucson, Arizona and El Paso at Jones Elementary School in the former Smeltertown area and Lincoln Elementary School. Bess was a gifted, well loved teacher. Many of her former students stayed in touch with her throughout their lives. Her family would like to express their thanks and enduring appreciation for the loving care she received from Patty Avila at Ruthie's Place during the last years of her life. The family also wishes to thank Urmi Marquez for her care of Bess at Ruthie¹s Place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-West, 480 N.
