Betty Ellen Boncser

Betty Boncser went home to Jesus on December 5, 2015 at the age of 81. Betty was born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 2, 1934. Betty moved from Nashville to El Paso in 1973 due to her husband's military transfer to Ft. Bliss. Her early career was as an owner /operator of a beauty salon as a cosmetologist. Within a few years she became a licensed vocational nurse and continued this career until her retirement from R.E. Thomason hospital in 1985. Betty's passions included working with legislators to pass spousal benefits for military widows. She was also a member of the Democratic Party and precinct chair. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her son James Townsend Jr. and her daughter Pamela Claudet Townsend. She is survived by her husband Joseph Boncser and her son Mark Edward Boncser and his wife Gloria Cantu Boncser, grandchildren Noah Rylee Boncser and Isabella Celeste Boncser. She is also survived by her niece Beth Lewis and her nephew Terry Edward Trapp both of Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home-West, with Pastor Charlie Alvarado officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, NM. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West, 480 N. Resler Dr.
