Betty Nell Tanner of El Paso, Texas, was born on June 1, 1933 in Dierks, Arkansas to Horace & Opal Cannon and later moved to Anthony, NM where she lovingly raised 3 sons who were her life. She peacefully passed away with her sons by her side on February 24, 2014 at the age of 80.
She began a successful 35 year career in the executive search business where she eventually opened her own, Betty Tanner Executive Search. Her unwavering devotion to Christ served as the foundation for her life. She was preceded in death by her son Kenneth. She is survived by her sons Bruce Tanner and Russell (Renee) and grandson, Cody; her brothers Donald (Betty) and Lindy Cannon and sister Jimi Churchill. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives. She volunteered for 15 years at Providence Memorial Hospital, was a member of Eastern Star, and El Paso Women’s Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of El Paso.
The legacy of Betty's kind spirit, devoted faith, volunteerism and zest for life will live through her sons, grandson, and all those whose lives she touched.
A visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home - 480 North Resler on Friday, February 28th from 5-8pm. Services will be held Saturday, March 1st at 11:00 A.M at First Baptist Church of Anthony, 201 Lincoln St Anthony, N.M. Interment will follow at Anthony Cemetery.
