Carlos De La Fuente

Carlos Genaro De La Fuente, age 70, of El Paso TX suddenly passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 (the 250th celebration of the USA) in Tucson AZ. Born July 29, 1955 in Chihuahua MX, Carlos moved with his family to El Paso at an early age.

He attended Sageland Elementary School and graduated from Bel Air High School in 1973. His working career began at age 11 delivering newspapers on his bicycle in the Lower Valley of El Paso, TX. After proudly serving in the US Air Force from 1973-1977, he owned/operated TV MDs electronic repair shop for 42 years in El Paso until retirement in 2020.

His greatest and proudest accomplishments were his 2 children, Carlos and Angela, always taking them to Disneyland for “his” birthday. His undivided attention and devotion to them was communicated daily in actions rather than the 3 words “I love you”.

Preceded in death by his parents, Carlos De La Fuente and Bertha De La Fuente of El Paso TX, and Marilyn’s parents, Bill and Ruth Elliott, brother: Billy Wayne Elliott, and nieces: Michelle (David) Grizzle and Angela Elliott.

Survived by his wife: Marilyn De La Fuente and precious dogs Rango and Bogo, son: Carlos R. (Jasmin) De La Fuente of El Paso TX, daughter: Angela (Mike) Orchowski of Tucson AZ who blessed him in 2024 with a grandson Turner Liam Orchowski, and sister: Rosa Gutierrez of Queen Creek, AZ along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Carlos is also survived by Marilyn’s family, whom he loved as his own - daughters: Nicole (Robbie) Nourse and Tiffany (Richard) White, granddaughters: Brianna (Patrick) Hamilton, Madison (Bailey) Bullen, and Kamryn Chambers, grandson: Treyvon White, and brother: Ronnie (Pam) Elliott.

All of Carlos’ pets were “rescues” and he had a vision to build a campground in NM for veterans with PTSD that never came to fruition. So to honor and celebrate Carlos’ life and legacy, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, your contributions be sent to these charities since he had a huge heart for both: your local Humane Society/Shelter and/or the PTSD Foundation/Camp Hope (https://ptsdusa.org/).
