Carlos Arturo Tovar

CARLOS ARTURO TOVAR was born in Cali, Colombia on September 13, 1955 and passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Carlos immigrated to the U.S. in 1967 at age 12 and was raised in the Washington, D.C. area. Carlos served his adopted country by joining the U.S. Army and retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a translator. He was preceded in death by his father Rafael Tovar. He is survived by his mother Elvia Tovar, his loving wife Elsa, siblings; Maria Patricia Tovar, Gloria Estella Tovar, Rafeal Antonio Tovar, Guillermo Alejandro Tovar, and aunt Rafaela Tovar. Carlos was a devoted godfather to Kyleigh, Koi, Korbin, and Jakob. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM, with a Rosary at 7:00PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 10:00AM at St. Luke Catholic Church, 930 E. Redd Rd. A private inurnment will be held at a later date by family.
