Carlota Josefina Peart was born on September 18,1943, in Panama City, Republic of Panama to the late Clifford Morgan and Alice Notice. Having several sisters in the household, Carlota acquired many talents that would prove beneficial throughout her life. Her parents found her to be a humble, loving, responsible and trustworthy child.
Carlota was equipped with a public school education and a strong desire for self-improvement. She married her childhood sweetheart, Davis Roosevelt Peart, and remained a devoted wife for fifty-eight years until his passing in 2023. Being married to an Army soldier allowed Carlota to visit many countries and experience diverse cultures. To her four children, Carlota was the best mother, cook, interior decorator, financial expert and religious advisor, bar none.
Carlota was a devout Catholic who loved the Lord. Her favorite saint was Saint Don Bosco.
Carlota entered the food service industry in 1972 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and retired in 2008 at Fort Bliss, Texas, in El Paso.
During her illustrious career, Carlota held many positions, served countless soldiers and civilians and received numerous awards.
Carlota’s supervisors praised her strong work ethic, exemplary attendance record, meticulous attention to detail and excellent inspection results. She always made sure that her dining facilities were exceptionally clean and that the food served met the military’s high standards. Carlota received the highly coveted Coin of Excellence Award medallion, recognizing outstanding work performance, from the Fort Bliss Commanding General.
Carlota retired as the Cantu Food Service Manager.
Carlota had a sharp mind and could recount family history with amazing detail. Carlota gave cheerfully and generously to all whom she loved. She loved entertaining in her beautiful home and her guests loved her hospitality. Carlota truly was a special person and her legacy will forever remain in our hearts. Carlota was part of a large family and was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Morgan and Alice Notice; her husband, Davis Peart and a host of other family members. Left to mourn her death are her children, Sonia Brown (Anthony); Roberto Peart, Sr. (Karen) George Peart and Zulema Peart; Grandchildren, Qwen-nia Vaughen, Andre Brown and Roberto Peart, Jr. (RJ);great grandchild, Chancellor Allen, Jr. (CJ) and a host of family members, friends and acquaintances.
