Carmen Vera Anaya, 87, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025. She is survived by her daughters Teresa Anaya-Connell (Mark) and Melissa Anaya Hayden; her son Gilbert (Alice); her grandchildren Nicole Valdez, Alexandra Valdez, Erin Hayden, Matthew Anaya, and Joshua Anaya; her “grand-dogs” Murphy and Luna; her brothers Federico Vera (Carmen) and Felipe Vera, Jr. (Maria) and her sister Mary Tibuni. She is preceded in death by her parents Felipe Sr. and Maria Vera and her daughter Sandy.
She was a beloved mother and grandmother and will be remembered for the love she had for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid football and tennis fan, enjoyed baking cookies with her grandchildren, and loved to dance, a love she acquired from her father.
Being a mother and grandmother was the greatest gift of her life. She was meant for the role. She gave so much of herself to them-her time, her energy, her support, and her love.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 8, 2025 at Little Flower Catholic Church, 171 Polo Inn. Graveside Service will follow at 12:30 PM at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery.
