Carmen D. Medina, 88, went home with our lord Jesus Christ on October 15, 2014 in the arms of her beloved daughter Nora, at Sierra Medical Center. Preceded in death by her parents Pedro Doblado Sr. and Carmen Perez Doblado; her beloved husband of 57 years Hector Medina; Brothers, Philip Doblado and Pete Doblado Jr.; Sisters, Hope Reed, Lupe Sermeno; Little brothers, Carlos and Manuel Doblado.
Born on October 16, 1925, she was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. She attended El Paso High School and worked at the Popular Dry Goods Department Store. After WWII, she was introduced to Hector Medina by his buddy (her brother) Philip Doblado. They were inseparable and married July 11, 1947. They were blessed with four daughters, which she always called “her four roses.”
Survivors include four daughters, Carmen A. Medina, El Paso TX, Patricia Arnold, El Paso TX, Martha Erivez (Willie),Columbus, GA, Nora J. Calero (Terri Vigil) El Paso, TX; grandchildren, David Erivez, Columbus, Ga, Daniel Erivez (Christy Chretian, Kayla Casugay), Charlotte, NC, Angel Hope Martinez (Jeff), Austin TX, Julian J. Calero, New York, Jennifer Arnold, Idaho; and great granddaughter Danielle Erivez, Charlotte, NC. Sisters, Aurora Macias (deceased husband Joe Macias), Ida Macias (deceased husband Tony Macias), Mary Cruz (deceased husband Albert Cruz), and Brother, Henry Doblado (Hortencia), and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A devoted Catholic, she was a charter member of Blessed Sacrament Church, and an active member of the Rosary Altar Society for more than 40 years. She was also a member of The Legion of Mary, Meals on Wheels, and Jail Ministry. She was very talented and sung beautifully. For 15 years, she participated in yearly musical shows produced by the El Paso Lions Club at the Liberty Hall. She loved music, dancing, singing, reading religious articles, and reading the newspaper daily. Above all, her love and devotion to God, Jesus Christ, and Blessed Mother Virgin Mary. Her most precious gifts were her family, relatives and close friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will be officiated by Father Ben Flores at 10:00am on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 9025 Diana Dr. Interment will follow at 11:00am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henry Doblado, William Erivez, David Erivez, Daniel Erivez, Julian J. Calero, and Angel Hope and Jeff Martinez.
