Carmen "Melly" Stephens Grijalva

Carmen “Melly” Stephens Grijalva, age 77, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 17, 2024. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, a dedicated teacher, and she will be greatly missed. Melly is preceded in death by her parents; Arturo Stephens "Papop" and Maria G. Stephens "Mamom"; brother Lalo Laredo. She is survived by her brother Arturo Stephens Jr., her beloved children: David P. Grijalva, Rudy K. “Kris” Grijalva, and Rina C. Grijalva, and her cherished grandchildren Mina D. Gomez-Grijalva and Milo D. Gomez-Grijalva. She is also survived by many extended family and friends to cherish and honor her memory.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes-East, 750 N. Carolina, El Paso, Texas with a Rosary to commence at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 7712 S. Rosedale Street, followed by a Graveside Service at 12:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Those who cannot attend in person may join the funeral and memorial services virtually on Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/sunsetfuneralhome/ (no account is needed).
