Carmen "Tita" Sierra

"Mi Madre no se a ido." Our mother is not gone. She is here with us in our midst. She is in every flower we see. Every cloud that goes by, the breeze we feel going through our hair and our cheeks. When we feel she is kissing us giving her blessing. Her children will miss her terribly every day, but knowing that when we look up to heaven, she is watching each and every one of us from up there holding my father's hand and smiling down on us. Carmen "Tita" Sierra, 92, was born on July 28, 1921 and passed away August 08, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents Miguel Mendoza and Otila Murrieta; husband, Federico Sierra and grandson, David Jose Recovo. Carmen is survived by her sons: Fred Sierra Jr. (Margie) and Jose Sierra (Irene); daughters: Maria del Carmen Sierra (Frank), Yolanda Recovo, Irma Villescas (Oscar), Olga Sierra, Graciela Frescas (Joe), Martha Salazar (Mike), Patricia Sanchez (Roger), Leticia Sierra Montelongo (Jesus) and Eisa Sierra; 158 grandchildren, great granchildren and great-great grandchildren. She will be missed forever. A Visitation will begin from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013 with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 7424 Mimosa. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
