In loving memory of Cecelia, who gracefully departed this world on September 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and laughter. Born on April 9, 1952, in Holly Grove, Arkansas, Cecelia was the cherished daughter of Rothchild Wallace Sr. and Mattie Lean (King) Wallace. Her life was a testament to the strength and warmth of her spirit, impacting everyone she met in profound and meaningful ways. Cecelia was a woman of remarkable dedication and compassion, exemplified through her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She devoted many years to caring for the sick and elderly, bringing comfort and kindness to countless lives in the KC Metro area. Her work in resident care and health monitoring was not just a profession but a calling she cherished deeply. In addition, she served as a valued employee at the United States Post Office as a mail handler, where her friendly demeanor and work ethic made her many friends. Raised in a nurturing church environment, Cecelia's relationship with the Lord was a guiding light throughout her life. She passed this devotion onto her children, instilling in them the importance of faith and trust in God. In the early 1980s, along with her sisters, Cecelia channeled her passion for community service into founding the youth organization Shades of Black, which fostered creativity through dance, modeling, and acting. Cecelia's love for travel and her zest for life were infectious, and she had a unique talent for turning any gathering into a joyful occasion filled with music and laughter. Her greatest joy, however, was her family, whom she adored above all else. Cecelia is predeceased by her beloved son, Christopher Craig Herring, and her brothers and sisters, Pamela Louise (Davis) Simmons, Theola Holmes, Nedra Mitchum, Rothchild Wallace Jr., Christopher Wallace, and Wilfer "Cube" Wallace. She is survived by her loving sisters Sandra Davis and Nadine Vogel (John), her brother Al Wallace (Virginia Lynn), her devoted daughter Shaquana Hill (Melvin), and her cherished grandchildren, Araina Nicole Herring, Kendall Craig Herring, Randall Lamar Walker, Isaiah Aaron Wallace, and Shaneice Taylor Buckley.
A service to honor Cecelia's life will be held on October 2, 2026, at 9:00 AM, at Sunset Funeral Homes, located at 4631 Hondo Pass Dr., El Paso, TX, 79904. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Los Arcos del Norte Care Center for their gentle support during Cecelia's final days.In the words of her family, "What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose." As we gather to celebrate Cecelia's life, we hold onto the precious memories and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. In the coming weeks, months, and on special occasions, we ask for your prayers and love to help ease the quiet moments of grief. Your support means the world to us.
