Charlie Franklin Ward

Charlie Franklin Ward, 91, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his children, on Thursday, May 21, 2026. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Mary Ward, his loving wife, Frieda Ward, and his grandchildren, Brandon Gonzales and Amy Roberts.

He is survived by his beloved children, Kathleen R. Ward, Donna (John) Roberts, Charlie R. (Krista) Ward, Sharon (Frank) Gonzales, grandchildren, John Roberts IV, Evan Gonzales, great-grandchildren, Harper Stone, Brooklyn Roberts, Wesley Roberts, and Georgia Roberts, and his sister Mary Lawler. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends to cherish and honor his memory. Charlie was a football player for Texas Western College. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a loving husband and dedicated family man. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Homes-West.

Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd., Santa Teresa, NM 88008.
