Cindy Gore

January 9, 1948 — August 28, 2024

El Paso

Cynthia Green Gore passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on August 28, 2024. Cindy was a beloved wife, mother, and friend, and a true blessing to all who knew her.

Cindy was born on January 9, 1948, in Washington, D.C. Growing up as the daughter of a U.S. Air Force officer, she spent her childhood in Canada, Germany, and Albany, NY where she graduated from high school. Cindy cherished the adventures of living abroad and often shared stories about how these experiences shaped her life. After her family moved to El Paso, TX, Cindy attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where she earned a degree in early childhood education. It was at UTEP that she met her husband, Lynn J. Gore, through a sister in her Tri Delta sorority. For them, it was love at first sight.

Cindy and Lynn were married for 56 years. Though she had many treasured friendships, Cindy always said Lynn was her best friend. Together, they built a life filled with love and joy, raising their three daughters, Allison, Katy, and Emily, and enjoying their eight grandchildren, whom she doted on. Cindy dedicated her life to her family, making their lives beautiful with her love, care, and unwavering faith. She taught her daughters to love the Lord and shared the Gospel with many children during her time as a Christian education teacher at St. Clement's School.

Cindy was also deeply committed to helping others. She volunteered with the FEMAP Foundation, supporting women in Ciudad Juarez, and the El Paso chapter of P.E.O., an organization dedicated to advancing women's lives through education. Her leadership and service extended to roles such as President of the St. Clement’s School Board and Secretary of the Laun-Dry Supply Co. Board of Directors.

In addition, Cindy was a talented pastel painter, and her beautiful works of art grace the homes of her family and friends, serving as cherished reminders of her creativity.

Cindy will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, but her legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the lives of those she touched.

She is survived by her Loving husband, Lynn J. Gore; her dearest daughters and their husbands; Allison G. Pasternak (Kevin I.), Kathryn G. Inzer (Jay S.); Emily G. March (Daniel P.); her siblings; Eugene “Terry” Green (Yolanda); Carol Green and her 8 grandchildren. Many extended family and friends also survive her to cherish and honor her memory.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 14 at 1:00 pm at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in La Union. Donations can be made in Cindy’s name to Parkinsons.org.
