Connie Hernandez

Connie Hernandez, 84, passed away June 9, 2016. Connie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Connie had several accomplishments including sitting on the board of directors as Vice President for the Housing and Economic Rural Opportunity and was the Director of Missions Senior Community. She was also recognized for her volunteer services by the City of El Paso and was nominated to the Older El Paso Hall of Fame in 2005 for her Outstanding Service to the Community. She is preceded in death by her husband Luis Hernandez, Sr., son Luis Hernandez, Jr. and grandson Luis Hernandez III (“the 3rd”). She is survived by her sons Ruben (Gloria), Sam (Belinda “Beama”), daughter Patsy “Buddy”, brothers Jesus, Valentine and Pablo Chavira, sister Concha Nieves, grandchildren Jacob, Nicole, Candice, Celina, Ruben Jr., Eddie, Samantha, Isaac, Tabitha and 6 Great grandchildren. Visitation from 4:00-9:00 pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina.
