Our beloved Criselda “Cris” Serrano, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 23rd, 2016 with her children by her side. Born and raised in Marfa, Texas. Married her soulmate, Presiliano Serrano and moved to El Paso Texas. She was a retired school teacher and loved to paint. She was the epitome of virtue and a true pillar of strength, wisdom and rationality. She was a humble woman who valued her family, integrity and trusted fully in God’s will. Preceded in death by her husband, Presiliano Serrano, grandson, Christopher Lee Serrano and parents, Carlos Franco and Consuelo Dek Franco. Survived by her loving children: Velma Serrano Martinez, Lora Serrano Rodriguez(Eddie Rodriguez), Cora Serrano, and Samuel Serrano; five grandchildren: Christine Michelle Flores(Armando Sanchez, Jr), Corina Flores Cajas (Nick Cajas), Paul Anthony Martinez(Manda Martinez), Stephen Phillip Martinez, Justin Lee Serrano; five great-grandchildren: Nina Alexandra Cajas, Riley Jo Martinez, Mia Priscilla Sanchez, Alexander Nicholas Cajas, and Jude Anthony Martinez. Criselda is survived by her brother Jimmy D. Franco, and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-9:00pm, with a Rosary at 7:00pm Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass at 8:30am Friday, April 29, 2016 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers to serve will be: Justin Lee Serrano, Steven Phillip Martinez, Paul Anthony Martinez, Nick Cajas, Dickey Vasquez and Jimmy Franco.
