Cynthia Olesinski

May 28, 1962 — October 12, 2015

Cynthia Olesinski, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away on October 12, 2015 at the age of 53. She was born in Milwaukee, WI, May 28, 1962. Cindy spent her childhood as an Army dependent traveling with her family as her father was assigned new assignments, but always returned to and considered El Paso her home. Cindy fought her battle with cancer with all her strength and will and did so with quiet dignity. She spent her career as a receptionist at Balfour Beatty where her passion and love for taking care of soldiers and their families upon their arrival and departure at Ft. Bliss was clearly evident. She loved to walk/run daily to keep her healthy. She had an exceptional love of all animals, especially her cat Frankie. She tried her best to find loving homes for abandoned dogs and cats. She also loved her turtles that she acquired over the years. She took joy in reading Novenas and biographies about saints. Cindy is survived by her loving parents, Don and Judy Olesinski; her siblings Susan Van Nosdale (Fred), Tim Olesinski (DeAnna), Terri Murakami (Randy), 11 nephews and nieces, and 10 great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. The family wishes to acknowledge Hospice of El Paso for their kind, generous and compassionate care of Cindy during her time of need. Also the family wishes to thank the many friends and family members for their thoughtful cards, flowers, and meals during this trying time. Memorial Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will be said at 1:00pm on Friday November 6, 2015 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church (Chapel #2 on Fort Bliss). Interment is Private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the El Paso Humane Society in Cindy’s name. Also Cindy’s wish was that no one dress in dark attire for her celebration of “life”.
