David Enrique Avila, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 53, doing what he loved most: playing basketball with his friends on Good Friday, April 15, 2022. His life journey began on November 13, 1968, in El Paso, Texas.

He is preceded in death and is now reunited with his father, Jose C. Avila, along with many other dearly departed loved ones. David is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Avila of 25 years and his legacy remains in his daughters, Brianna and Annette, as well as his soon-to-be born grandchild.  He is also survived by his mother Virginia Avila, sister Norma Avila.  He will be missed by his extensive family and friends.

David worked at the El Paso Times for many years and was president of the local chapter Graphic Communications Conference International Brotherhood of Teamsters.  David went on to become the proud business owner of Northeast Printing in 2010.
