David A. Syner

David A. Syner (97), our beloved husband and father, passed away on July 24, 2025. He was born in Mexico and spent an interesting childhood in mining camps since his father worked for ASARCO. His siblings and him were homeschooled by their mother in their formative years. David served two years in the U.S. Navy before receiving a BBA from Texas Western College, now known as UTEP. He worked at EPISD for thirty years and retired in 1989. He is predeceased by two sons, David Galyon and James Galyon. He is survived by his wife Jeanne and they recently celebrated their 64th anniversary. Other survivors are daughter Ruth Riley (Robert), sons Scott Syner (Nancy), Richard Syner (Sandy), daughter-in-law Vicki Galyon, sister Mary Syner Harry, sister-in-law Brenda Hollamon Knotek and 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
