David Harry Williams

March 25, 1938 — January 16, 2015

David H. Williams, 76, Loving father and devoted husband, David passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015. He was born in Pekin, Illinois on March 25, 1938. In 1955, he joined the army at age 17 and four years later on December the 7th, he and his wife Barbara were married. In 1975, David retired from the Army. David proceeded to pursue a twenty-two year career with Texas Commerce/ Chase Bank. David is well remembered for his volunteer work as President of the El Paso Mountain Lions and Lions for Vision to which he devoted 30 years of his time and energy receiving several prestigious awards in appreciation for his selfless efforts. A charter member of the Benevidez-Patterson Airborne Chapter and Executive Committee member of the American Legion Post 58, David Williams took pride in supporting his fellow veterans and veterans organizations. David was happiest on the open road with his trailer in tow. He found solitude working with his model trains and enjoyed relaxing in his easy chair with a good old western novel. David is preceded in death by his brother Richard, his sister Ramona Hogan and is granddaughter Bobbie Jo Williams. David is survived by his wife Barbara, sister Evelyn, son Marc (Anna), daughter Kelly Davis (Joe) and his granddaughters Cindy and Joanna. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. A Committal Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
