Deacon Phillip “Dog” Deal, Jr., 65 passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 28, 2010. He was a life long resident of El Paso, worked as a truck driver and entrepreneur. He dedicated thirty years of his life to coaching youth sports and faithfully served in ministry at New Hope Faith Center. His parents Phillip A. & Alma L. Deal and brother Cle Joseph preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn: a wife, 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 3 sisters, 9 brothers, 1 aunt and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. To be absence from the body is to be present with the Lord, 2 Corinthians 5:8. Wake will be from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2010 following a Scripture Service at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, August 1, at Sunset Funeral Home-East located at 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at New Hope Faith Center located at 4400 Edgar Park. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral.
