Dolores Acosta

Dolores Leonor Acosta, age 87, entered eternal rest on December 4, 2025, in El Paso, Texas, at Oasis Rehabilitation and Nursing. Dolores was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas, and a beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch whose strength and determination left a lasting mark on all who knew her.Dolores was born on August 1, 1938. She grew up in Juárez, Mexico, where she developed the resilience and work ethic that would define her life. She later married the love of her life, Natividad “Pablo” Acosta, who preceded her in death.A devoted homemaker, Dolores also worked at Farah Manufacturing and cleaned houses in California, always doing whatever was necessary to care for her family. She was known for her unwavering determination and her famous “you’re not going to tell me what to do” attitude. If she didn’t know something, she would find a way to learn it. Her belief that “El que no habla, Dios no lo oye” was not just a saying, but a way of life.Dolores loved knitting, growing plants, and found joy in nature—especially birds and butterflies. She valued education deeply and proudly attended UTEP alongside her son Alex to earn her GED, a testament to her lifelong commitment to self-improvement and perseverance. She is survived by her loving children: Lorenzo Aguilar, Jaime Aguilar, Silvia Aguilar, Paul Anthony Acosta, Alex Edward Acosta, and Jessica Jimenez, along with numerous grandchildren and extended family members who will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Cobos Payne; her husband, Natividad “Pablo” Acosta; her daughter, Lilia Aguilar; and her son, Hector Charlie Acosta.
