Donna Varicee Freeman

July 12, 1968 — February 19, 2007

Donna Varicee Freeman Brown was taken into the waiting arms of our Lord and Savior on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 5:00 PM after a long illness. Donna was born in El Paso, Texas on July 12, 1968 to Gerald and Eddie Brown. She was the first born child of three children. She was a very loving person and always tried to do the right thing…even up until the angels took her away. She was a very sociable person who loved being with her friends. She enjoyed traveling, being with her family, listening to music and Loved talking! Donna received her education in El Paso Texas where she graduated from Andress High School in 1986. She was very active in school and was involved in several extra curricular activities. In junior high she played basketball, ran track, and played the viola in the orchestra. In high school she was a member of the Color Guard and was accepted into PREPS, a social club for African American girls who excelled academically. After she graduated she was hired by Champion Studios to teach summer flag camp for area high schools. She also attended the University of Texas at El Paso and later became a Medical Assistant after graduating from Western Tech. She worked at United Blood Services up until her illness. Donna gave her life to Christ at the age of twelve and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She later became a member of the Centurion Gospel Service where she was an active member of the adult usher board. Donna was married to Quincy Freeman in 1988. From this union she was blessed with one son, Anthony D. Freeman, whom she loved dearly. Donna leaves to cherish her memory her devoted parents, Gerald and Eddie Brown; her son, Anthony D. Freeman; her loving sisters, Debra Brown and Denise Brown (Dallas, Texas); her grandmother, Sallie Mae Brown (El Paso, TX); aunts: Alice Franklin (Dallas, TX), Mary K. Brown (husband) Eugene (Duncan, OK), Diane Stevenson (OK City, OK), and Tarolyn Waymon (Tallahasse, FL); cousins: Herbert Warren (wife) Rahmana, Chris Franklin, DeAndra Wilson, Jeffrey Brown, Jaime Brown, and Ricky Stevenson; Godparents Bobby and Beatrice Middleton; and a host of friends. A very special thanks to Joseph and Maryellen Howard who were there day and night throughout Donna's illness. Your devotion will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 pm, Friday, February 23, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Fort Bliss Sage Hall. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
