Dorothy Ruth Bayer August 30, 1920 – March 17, 2016 Goodbye to my family and friends as I go on another trip to meet my husband John and our son Philip. I leave behind four beautiful daughters: Elizabeth Ann Spreha (Henry) of Chattanooga, TN; Mary A. DiFlauro of El Paso; Dorothea Jeanne Bayer of El Paso; and Johnye Harriman of Belton, TX. I will miss them, my nine grandchildren and my eight great-grandchildren. I will be laid to rest with John at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. It’s been a great journey. Dorothy Dorothy served as District President of the Ladies’ Auxiliary to VFW Post 812 in El Paso; Senior Regent of the Women of the Moose, Chaparral, NM; and President of NCO Wives Clubs at Fort Bliss, Teheran, Iran, Japan, and many posts in the United States, including Fort Shafter, Hawaii. A Committal Service for Dorothy will be held on Tuesday, March 22, at 2:00 pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
