Edna P. Shaw

February 2, 1952 — September 8, 2025

Edna Perez Shaw, born on February 2, 1952, in El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren; every one of whom she helped raise, guide, and love with unwavering tenderness.

Edna was known for her radiant spirit, loving nature, her beautiful singing voice, and her lifelong passion for dance. She graduated from Irvin High School in 1970, where she served as Junior Class Treasurer and was actively involved in numerous clubs, including Who’s Who, Mu Delta Gamma, “A” Choir, and Drama Club. During her time at Irvin, she was honored as Senior Favorite, “Wittiest,” and Sophomore Countess; testaments to her charm, humor, and popularity. Shortly after graduating, Edna was crowned Miss Fiesta de las Flores 1971, a reflection of her grace, poise, and the admiration she inspired in her community.

After earning her associate degree from El Paso Community College, Edna dedicated over 30 years of service to the college, leaving a lasting impression on both students and colleagues. To know Edna was truly to love her. She carried a light that illuminated every room she entered, and her kindness, strength, and warmth made her unforgettable. She was, and always will be, special to every person blessed to know her. To say she will be missed is an understatement.

Edna was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Concepcion (Connie); her father, Guillermo Perez; and her sister, Lydia McIntosh. She is survived by her brother, Willie Perez(Diane); her sister, Ida Arnold; her children, Jeffrey Creel, Mark Creel(Kaylee), Brad Creel(Auburn), Breeana Harmon(Dustin), and Lisa Shaw-De La Pena(Phil); her grandchildren, Tiffany Bautista(Bobby), Daisy Creel, Jasmine Partin-Creel, Nadine Creel, Kayla Creel, Leeland Busse, Summer Harmon, and Noah Harmon; and her great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Brooklyn Bautista.
