Elsie Irene Morris

Elsie Irene (Griffin) Morris 79, Lost her battle with cancer on June 16, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Asheville, N.C. on November 27, 1936 to the late Lonnie and Elsie Swayngim Griffin. She was also preceded in death by her soul mate Olin to whom she was married for 56 years, sisters Ruth, Gin, Lil, Mary Sue brothers Lonnie, Hoot, Chet, Sam, and grandbaby Missy. She is survived by her children, Kim (Cliff), Carol (Steve), son Brian and Shirley Marie (Steve). She is also survived by her grandchildren Delana (Jayme), Jake, Bridgett, Willow, Travis (Wendy), Carri (Mark) and Taylor, her great-great grandchildren Haley, Shelby, Paige, Blake, and Dean. She is also survived by her loving brother and sister, Gene and Jane Griffin and numerous nieces and nephews. She volunteered for the Red Cross at WBMAC, bowled on many leagues and was on a dart league for many years. She fiercely loved and lived. Her family and friends will celebrate her life at 2:00PM Monday, June 27, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast 4631 Hondo Pass. Her ashes will be spread in her beloved mountains of North Carolina.
