Elsie Marr Wilson, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away May 4, 2016. Elsie was born to Elice "Jiggs" and Minerva Marr on January 5, 1925 in a small logging camp near Cloudcroft, New Mexico. After losing her mother at age three, she grew up in Fort Stanton and Tularosa, New Mexico. She graduated from Tularosa High School in 1943 and attended New Mexico State University. In 1946, she married John Franklin Wilson who preceded her in death in 2014. Together they raised two children, determined to provide for them the childhood that they never had. Elsie was active in Eastern Star and Ladies Shrine, and was retired from the Popular Dry Goods Company. For many years she lovingly handcrafted different ornaments which she included in her Christmas cards. These ornaments adorn many Christmas trees of family and friends. In fact, she was already working on this year's creations. In addition to her husband John, she was pre deceased by two brothers, Barney and Bill Marr. Left to cherish her memory are her son, John L. (Ellen) Wilson of El Paso; daughter Shirley (Joe) Delahoz of Colleyville, Texas and brother in law W.C. "Toad" Wilson of La Luz, New Mexico. Other survivors are grandchildren John M (Nikki) Wilson of El Paso; David (Tanya) Delahoz of Breckenridge, Colorado, and Michael (Crystal) Delahoz of Trophy Club, Texas. Also great-grandchildren Hayley and Tyler Wilson of El Paso; Daniel and Karsten Delahoz of Breckenridge; Mia Grace and Ellie Delahoz of Trophy Club; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a loving and caring person who never said an unkind word about anyone. Death cannot diminish the way she touched our lives - She will remain in our hearts forever. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Please visit our online registry book at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net
