Elvira Galvan Galindo was called home by Our Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Elvira was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of 1969, and worked for the City of El Paso in various capacities during a career that spanned over 30 years. She accomplished her lifelong goal of graduating from the University of Phoenix with her Bachelor’s Degree in 2000 and from Park University with her Master’s Degree in 2017. Elvira loved traveling, flowers, gardening, doing things around her house, and taking care of her pets. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Antonio Galindo, parents, Ramiro and Elvira Jesusita Galvan, and her brother, Edmundo Galvan. Elvira is survived by her sons, Juan Antonio Galindo II and David Anthony Galindo, brothers Ramiro Galvan Jr., Jose Rodriguez, and Cirilo Rodriguez, sisters, Cecilia Hernandez, Pat Frausto, Yvonne Valles, and Annette Perez, granddaughter Brenda Lorraine Jimenez, and multiple nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary starting at 7:00 PM on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home – Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr., El Paso, Texas 79907. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Our Lady of The Light Church, 4700 Delta Dr., El Paso, Texas 79905. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave., El Paso, Texas 79906. Pallbearers are Juan Antonio Galindo II, David Anthony Galindo, Jesus E. Frausto Jr., Dante J. Gandara, George Galindo, and Saul Villalobos.
