Emma Lou Klink Haddad, 82, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016, in El Paso, Texas.
Born June 20, 1933, in El Paso, Emma was the youngest of Charles and Emily Klink’s six children. Her parents, her brother, Samuel Klink, and sisters, Mary Lee Howard and Pauline Abraham, preceded her in death. She is survived by sisters, Nimrie Robinson (husband, Bill), and Betty Macaron, and sister-in-law, Vona Klink; her children: Priscilla Pelking (husband, Scott), Fred Haddad (wife, Erica), Mary Easterling (husband, Lloyd), and Nancy King (husband, Dell); her grandchildren: Ryan Pelking (wife, Kara), Rachel Wood (husband, Matthew), Robyn Pelking, Daniel Haddad (wife, Sara), Kayla LaRosa (husband, John), Virginia Burkhart (husband, Phillip), Lloyd Easterling IV (wife, Jamie), Chuck King (wife, Cissy), Karen Shoopman (husband, Allen), Holly Shelly (husband, Tom); and her great grandchildren: Kasey and Grayson Pelking, Zachary Wood, Jeremiah James Haddad, Liam LaRosa, Lexie Chapman and Hunter Burkhart, Mason and Lane Easterling, Andy and El Naughtin, Jeff and Laura Shoopman, Lauren, Rachel and Anna Shelly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Emma graduated from Austin High School in 1951 and attended Texas Western University. True to her lifelong, strong faith in Christ, Emma spent her life serving others. Her devotion led her to pursue a Graduate of Education for Ministry from the School of Theology at the University of the South, Swanee, TN, completed 1984. Through her dedicated ministry as Christian Education Director at St. Clement’s Church for 25 years, Emma touched the lives of many children and adults. Her outreach extended to several churches in the southwest with her administration of the Christian Education Resource Center at St. Clement’s. She enjoyed basketball, cooking, reading, and tennis. She cherished time with family and friends.
The family extends sincere thanks for the kindness and care Emma received during her time with Golden Park and Envision Hospice.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at services on Monday, June 13. Her burial will be at Memory Gardens of the Valley at 9:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service and reception at the Church of St. Clement at 11:00 a.m.
