It is with deep sorrow, we announce the death of Enrique “Henry” Ruiz, who passed away on February 12, 2023, at the age of 95 with his children by his side.
Enrique was born on April 21, 1927, in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, to Jesus Ruiz Barrio and Maria de Jesus Maese. He moved to El Paso, TX at the age of 19 and soon after, married the love of his life, Maria. They had three children, Enrique, Hector and Cecilia. Enrique was a master carpenter who worked on numerous construction developments throughout the city and enjoyed spending time in his workshop working on countless projects, including wooden toys and furniture for his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and actively involved with the church.
Enrique is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Ruiz Barrio and Maria de Jesus Maese, wife, Maria, two brothers, Francisco and Ezequiel; two sisters, Rebeca and Elma. He is survived by his three children; Enrique, Hector, Cecilia; daughters-in-law, Irma and Patricia; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Raul Ruiz; sister-in-law, Alicia Martinez; as well as beloved nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Little Flower Catholic Church, 171 Polo Inn. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Evergreen East Cemetery.
