Eric Aofia
On Sunday, August 30th, 2015 - with stage lights flashing - Eric Michael Aofia, 29, laid down his headphones and picked up his wings. Eric was born October 29th, 1985 in El Paso, Texas. Studious and ambitious, he exceeded as a highlander graduating in 2004 from Bel Air High School. As a scholar and proud UTEP Miner, in 2008, Eric graduated with his Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration. His passion for technology led him to a fulfilling career as a top IT Specialist at Texas Tech. In 2013, Eric had the privilege of marrying his best friend, Mandy Perez. Through the gleam in his eyes and the warmth of his smile, every captured moment reflects the special feelings Eric held for the love of his life. Together they showed their un-relentless love for each other molding memories that will forever be embedded in their hearts. So many people gravitated to Eric as the pure-hearted leader, always pulling out the best in those having had the honor of knowing him. He danced to his own rhythm and made everyone dance with him. Proud and humble he wore his cultures on his sleeve. Eric had the beautiful ability to distribute his time and devotion evenly toward his faith, his families, his culture, and his passions. The strong legacy Eric leaves behind lives on through the five lives he saved through organ donation; a true act of selflessness. His light will continue to shine-on through his surviving spouse, Mandy; parents, Salatielu and Alicia, and siblings Samantha, Sarah, Kenneth and Kevin. Fly high Eric, our beloved husband, son, brother, hero.
