Erlinda was born in Alpine, TX on May 4th, 1944 and spent most of her childhood between Alpine and Marathon, TX with her 8 siblings up until she was a young teenager. The family moved to Alamogordo, NM for better opportunities when she was 17 and it is where she eventually met the love of her life. They spent 39 wonderful years together before cancer stole him from her and raised two wonderful children. She continued to live in the house they purchased together and looked forward to seeing her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren right up to the day she died. She always said her family was her greatest joy.
Erlinda, better known as Lin by her brother’s and sister’s, mom to her children, Tita to her grandchildren and Prima to her many cousins all of which she loved and cherished deeply. She was a caring neighbor to those who lived around her and a dear friend to many. Her happiness and joy were cooking and baking for friends and family and her door was always open to both. She enjoyed gathering with family, listening and occasionally dancing to Little Joe along with an occasional tequila shot. When she was with all her family her smile and laughter were like no other and it was definitely contagious to everyone around her. She lived her life to the fullest and kept God in her heart and soul. She will be greatly missed by all those she touched but she will forever live in our hearts and memories until we meet again.
