Ernesto Baudelio Sanchez

October 7, 1959 — December 10, 2015

Ernesto Baudelio “Teto” Sánchez, beloved brother, father and grandfather, passed away on December 10 at the young age of 56. He was born in El Paso, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Baudelio and Inocencia Sánchez and Sister Grace Granger. He took with him a lot of good memories and left behind three grieving children, Issac (Jennifer Louise), Daniel and Jaquelyn, and grandchildren Reina Rose Sánchez and Roman David Sánchez. He is also survived by siblings Javier (Mary), Lorenzo (Imelda), Alicia, Rosa (Ted) and Jaime (Dorothy). He will also be remembered by many relatives and friends in California, Colorado, Texas and México. Teto grew up in El Paso in the Clardy Fox neighborhood, but left our city after high school (Jefferson) at 17 to join the Marine Corps. He spent almost 11 years as a “jarhead” and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He spent most of his adult life in Oceanside, California and Colorado Springs, Colorado; two places that fit him like a glove since he was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved to keep up with the world news by being an avid reader. He was always frank, candid and ready to pounce on you if you were not prepared to engage in a meaningful discussion with him. Informative discussions with his brothers were the norm rather than the exception. Teto graduated from a community college and became a certified automotive technician. He was always proud of the fact that often he was the only mechanic looking after dozens of trucks during his military days. Teto was fun, a consummate joker who never met a discussion he didn’t like or wanted to participate in. He could be feisty and stubborn, but he was also kind and fun to be with. All four brothers used to meet in Phoenix to watch the Dallas Cowboys play the Arizona Cardinals when both teams were in the same division. The brothers also visited him often in California and Colorado, where we enjoyed the outdoors. He had a special bond with his youngest brother, Jaime, with whom he shared a home many times during their adult lives. Their escapades and mischievous behavior are legendary among family and friends. Teto, you left us too soon. We’ll remember you forever. A Graveside Service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2015 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
