Estela Escobar entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
A lifelong resident of El Paso, Estela was a devoted educator who taught Math, Art, and English as a Second Language. She also shared her talents as an entrepreneur and owner of Stela’s Café in California, and as owner of Early Childhood Education and Development Centers: Castillo de Niño’s and Jack-N-Jill Kindergarten.
Estela was a proud graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, where she earned degrees in Art, Drafting, and Education. She was an artist with a deep passion for oil painting, and her art reflected her travels and experiences from around the world.
She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she will be greatly missed.
Estela was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Escobar and Luz Cepeda; her son, Carlos Diego Veale; and her siblings: Josefina Alvidrez, Maria de la Luz Escobar, Gloria Trujillo, Guadalupe Hidalgo, Jesus Escobar, and Francisco “Quico” Escobar.
She is survived by her dearest children, Arthur Paul Veale (devoted partner Elsa Davila), and Estela Veale; her sisters, Olga Zuniga and Martha Perrotto; her four grandchildren: Estela Louise Sims, Arthur Paul Veale Jr., Lauren Luz Veale (fiancé Steve Pizano) and Ethan Carlos Augustin Lucas; and her great-grandchild, Luciano Enzo Pizano. She is also survived by many immediate and cherished extended family members and friends who will cherish and honor her amazing memory.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 31, 2026, with a Rosary to commence at 6:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 01, 2026, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 4006 Hidden Way, El Paso, TX 79922. Committal Service will follow at 11:00 am at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps, El Paso, TX 79904.
