Everett Thorpe, Jr., of El Paso, Retired Army Master Sergeant and supervisor at the Phelps Dodge Refining Corporation, El Paso Works, lost his battle with cancer at the age of 85 on December 5, 2014. He was born on February 27, 1929 in Wurtsboro, New York. He served with the occupation forces in Germany, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving three tours, before, during and after the conflict, and the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Anna H. Thorpe; daughter, Linda Bustamante (JC), son, Wayne Thorpe; daughter, Vickie Pickett (Chris); son, Dale Thorpe (Shannon); 6 grandchildren: Christine (Troy), Dana, Christal, Jennifer (Ernie), Adam (Kristy) and Ryan; and 11 great grandchildren: Brianna, Alyssa, Cameron, Dylan, Amanda, Chloe, Chrystofer, Jayson, Rosemary, Reese and his namesake Alexander -Everett.
